Spectrum of haematological neoplasms at a tertiary care hospital in Northern Province, Sri Lanka

Haematological neoplasms comprise a collection of heterogeneous neoplastic conditions that arise from cells the bone marrow and lymphoid system. This study describes pattern distribution haematological at tertiary hospital inNorthernProvince,Sri Lanka. A descriptive retrospective audit was conducted ofall diagnosed by peripheral blood examination. total 435 were reported during 4-year period. Acute myeloid leukaemia commonest neoplasm, followed plasma cell neoplasmmyelodysplastic syndrome acute lymphoblastic chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Male predominance seen in most neoplasms, compatible with local, regional, global data. Female predilection noted essential thrombocythaemia, matching trends, andinmyelodysplastic syndrome, incontrast to is common neoplasm.
